WEDDING INVITATION WORDING

All of our designs can be personalized with the wording of your choice. One of the advantages of working with a stationery designer is that we are here to guide you and provide suggestions as needed. We've included some wording examples below, along with some of our favorite tips. 

• Don’t abbreviate: spell out everything on your wedding invitations, including the addresses on the envelopes. 
• Be consistent. Use the same format for the date on the invitation and the response cards. It is not necessary to include the year on the response card.
• Use "half after" or "half past" to describe times that are not on the hour.
• Traditionally, anything after 6 pm is considered evening.
• A "reception card" should be included along with the invitation if the reception is held at a different location than the ceremony. The reception card would include the reception location and details.
• The RSVP date should be at least 4-5 weeks before the wedding, to allow ample time to follow up with anyone who has not responded.
• Bonus Tip: Create a numbered guest list. Number the back of your response cards with the corresponding numbers. This will ensure you know exactly who the response card is from, in case someone forgets to include their name before mailing or if their name is illegible.
